6.6 Mods
This section lists Multiplayer game modifications created by the

community. Mods are
.rez files that you put in the
C:\Program Files\Buena Vista Interactive\Tron 2.0\Custom\Mods\ModName or
x:\YourTronDir\Custom\Mods\ModName folder. They modify the features and/or behavior of the game.
If you don't want to worry about installing maps and mods yourself, the new REZ Handler will install them for you!
Existing Multiplayer Mods you can download
Ancient Disc Mod

Standard Disc (Before)
|

Ancient Disc (After)
|
dsoAncientDisc.exe - 656 KB, by ldso.X (aka Xistence)
NOTE: You need to install the v1.042 patch before using this mod.
Installing this mod will change your disc from the standard one, to an ancient version of the disc that looks and sounds like the one from the original

film. The download link provided, is to the version of the mod that works for both Single Player and Multiplayer. This version is permanently in effect, unless certain steps are taken.
To disable the Ancient Disc Mod:

- Go inside the Tron 2.0 folder. If you installed to the default directory, it will be in the C:\Program Files\Buena Vista Interactive path.

- Look for a folder called tcdg and go inside it.

- Now go inside the folder labelled game.

- In this folder, could be one or more folders. One of them will be named WEAPONS.

- Rename WEAPONS to _WEAPONS. The Ancient Disc will now be disabled, until you rename the folder back the way it was.
To uninstall the Ancient Disc Mod:
The easiest way to uninstall the mod is to use the
Uninstall TCDG Folder feature in the new
REZ Handler. Note that all other projects inside the
tcdg folder will also be removed, if you do this. If you don't want to remove other existing projects in the
tcdg folder, simply delete the
WEAPONS folder instead.
Light Cycle Custom Colors and Super Speed Mod
Speed2.zip - 535 KB, by Raven
This mod adds a reflective shine to existing Light Cycles, as well as adding new and different colored Cycles in Multiplayer. It also increases the speed of the Light Cycles to "ludicrous speed".

In order to use this mod,
the game server you join must also be using it. If the server is not using the mod and you are, or it's using the mod and you aren't, you will not be able to join any servers and get a
blank server list.
After copying the Mod
.rez file to the
Custom\Mods\ModName folder:

If the Mod was installed successfully, then when the launcher comes up, a new button will appear at the bottom labelled Custom. Click that button.

- Check the Speedmod item, to make the game use the mod, and click OK.

- Now click the Play button.

- Select Multiplayer.

- Choose Player setup.

- Move the cursor to the top of the screen, and click Game type if it doesn't show Light Cycles. Then use the arrows to move through all the new colors you can choose from!
Imitation Killer App Skin Pack
KMX_Skins v1.0.zip Mod Version - 51.9 MB, by Kain-Xavier
KMX_Skins v1.0.zip TCDG Version - 39.5 MB, by Kain-Xavier
Both the
Mod Version and
TCDG Version add new Multiplayer character skin colors: not only to resemble the extra skins added in the Xbox version of the game (Killer App Blue and Xbox Green), but also to add totally new character colors. Meanwhile, only the
Mod Version adds new Light Cycle colors (Killer App Blue, Xbox Green, Cyan, White, and Black) and a new character model (Alan).
In order to use the
Mod Version,
the game server you join must also be using it. If the server is not using the mod and you are, or it's using the mod and you aren't, you will not be able to join any servers and get a
blank server list. (This mod can be used in Single Player as well, but is really most effective in Multiplayer.)
On the other hand, the
TCDG Version does not require anyone else to be using the same Mod in Multiplayer. However — unlike the
Mod Version — it is permanently in effect unless you rename one or more of the
tcdg folders, and does not feature the new Light Cycle colors or Alan character. Installation requires you to already have installed the
Ancient Disc Mod (at the top of this page) or the
Capture the Bit map (which can be found on the
6.3 Derez/Team Derez page.) The content of
KMX_Skins v1.0.zip needs to be extracted into the
tcdg folder created by these two other projects.
For the
Mod Version, use the same instructions as described above for the
Light Cycle Custom Colors and Super Speed Mod to install it. After copying the Mod
.rez file to the
Custom\Mods\ModName folder, use the
Custom button and check the
KMX_Skins box to enable the mod. In the game, go to
Multiplayer and then
Player setup, to see the new skins or Light Cycle colors.
