S.T.E.A.L.T.H. game engine; Looking for playtesters

I just finished an early version of the game engine for my upcoming game, S.T.E.A.L.T.H. I need some playtesters, though. Here's the requirements:

-Must have GameMaker 7 Pro (registered)
-Must have some skill/understand how to use GameMaker 7 Pro
-Cannot distribute the game engine to others

I'm including three types of enemies in the game engine, but feel free to make your own!

You will recieve the .gmk file, meaning you can alter anything. Instructions included in the .gmk file, check out my blog for more details.

Sorry, I can't get the file to you (or anyone, for that matter) right now. Vista is hiding the file from me. I copied the destination for the file, pasted it into Windows Explorer, only to get a "File not Found" error. Then I went back to GameMaker and opened it. wtf...

Wait! I can send you the file! Vista likes hiding files in the "Program Files" directory!
What I did is I re-saved the file to my SD card, and attached it from there.

Should I reinstall TRON 2.0 under the "Program Files (x82)" directory?

Double click the Computer icon, or run Windows Explorer. Organize > Layout > put a checkmark beside Menu Bar by clicking on it. Now the menu that's hidden by default will appear. Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Click the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button. Click OK.

In that same View tab, you could also uncheck both "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files" and click OK. But then you have to be very careful to not accidentally move or delete the wrong file. Or else you could mess up Windows.

It would be better to save the file somewhere else, then. Where you know you'll be able to find it. Like maybe the Documents folder. Or create a new folder where you save your work to, that you can easily find. And then I would recommend undoing what you did earlier, by clicking "Do not show hidden files and folders" and click OK.

Is it possible to say in GameMaker 'File'/'Save as' and then select, for example, the 'Desktop' as location and to put it there? Normally it should...

What I did to get the file to death_program was I re-saved the file to my SD card, and then I was able to access it.

I'll just save stuff to the Program Files (x86) folder from now on.

Well, Vista is crap, especially with the use of kind of filesystem hardlinks just to show different 'views' of the same folder. Sometimes i had applications that couldn't run probably as they were installed into 'Programme' (as i own a german version), but parallel to it there is a folder called 'Program Files', 'Programme' is just a hardlink to the other folder.
The endresult was that they installed in the expected folder 'Programme' (which does not really exists as folder tho) but cannot run as they were really located in 'Program Files' in the end and all registry-entries are set to 'Programme'. If a program is now looking for it self for some stuff, expecting the location 'Programme', it can't find anything as it is "misplaced".
I mean what kind of dumb mechanism is that?

So i definitely now your 'pain' about that crap. Best thing is to uninstall Vista and put XP on the machine, if possible.

Just how finicky is GameMaker, anyway? Yeesh.

You should be able to save your game file anywhere you want with the "Save as" feature, like X said. You can create your own special folder in Windows Explorer, and save the file in there. So you don't have to go hunting for it any more.
