Art

Post by Avi »

Here's an abstract detail sketch I did at work with an ink pen on a piece of paper from a notepad. I'm thinking about putting it on ebay just for fun...might include a CD of my music to listen to while looking at your new piece of art.

Where should I start the bidding?

Wow that is abstract! Let's see if we include the price of the paper and ... haha just kidding, I'd put it up for $1995.95 for a few months and see what happens, what the heck.

Interesting trying to deciper it.

There's an 80's german band Xmal Deutschland and the singer does art that she says is visually musical, although I haven't seen how yet... flip through a few gallery slides here http://www.anjahuwe.com/ maybe you can figure out how to make something like that actually happen?

It was all done without rhyme or reason. I just start making lines and they turn into shapes, and then I make them into something else. It's pretty close to stream of conscious drawing, where your hand just starts moving and all of these pictures spill out of the pen, but I think there were subliminal themes that popped up depending on what I was watching or listening to while I was working on it.

I'd like to see some art from other members of the community if there are any artists (or wannabe's like me) out there.

Avi blame me if u want but when i looked at ur graphic a dejavu linked to Micheal Jackson's Album called Dangerous happened to me. Of course it's not the same in style or from the perspective of the content. But when u compare them...both pictures present a division of elements that are connected together to have the feel all elements belong together in the same world. I hope u know what i mean. It's a challenge to describe any impressions with a language u are not used as much as ur basic languages (in my case german & hungarian aka magyar).

I only ever made one serious attempt at creating artwork. It turned out OK, but certainly wasn't exceptional. Maybe I should have kept practicing. Maybe I could have gotten better. But I gave up at that point. I think I have a much better chance at another type of art, though. Music.

That picture you drew is pretty surreal and psychadelic, all right. Quite cool. 8-)

If you offer that together with one of your CDs on eBay, I'm pretty sure it would sell for a decent amount.

Hey...how can the shipping costs be free Avi ? Are u willing to pay for the one who is interested to order ur art ? Or does it mean that within united states it won't cause shipping costs....i'm confused. However abstract graphics always sell unlike art that shows people, house or a tree that u have copied down to the paper u know. Reasons are simple....people prefer "creativ" art & what u have done fits absolutely to this sector. Modern Art offers more expression possiblities. It's like with comerc. & free music where u liberate urself completely from rulez.

However i like it too & i know it's hard to draw with only one pencil. It's easier when u make use of more tools.

It won't cost much to ship it, so whatever the post office charges can be absorbed by the final bid. Hell, it didn't cost me anything to make (just time over a period of 30 days), so it's basically all profit anyway.

Good idea. :P Make several pieces in perfect quality & so could make of money with the copies but not with the original. For an original i would sell only with a high price. Perhaps it would be better to consult advices from someone within the art-scene, who knows where to find gallery-events, where u could attend & show off a few pictures to the visitors.

Besides it's also a good promotion for ur music & who knows what then would happen aside the higher win with the pictures u for sure could earn there more as on I-net. ;)

I would like to do more stuff like this on canvas, using brushes with bold colors. This has been my sketch style ever since I was young, jamming as many visuals into a small area as possible. I think that style is also part of my music writing method, since I hate to have any space in a song where hardly anything is happening.

After Hurricane Katrina, I met a New Orleans artist that does something similar (but is by far more talented). He uses color pencils n poster board, and the effect is almost hypnotic...I can't stop looking at the detail that he puts into his art. I usually bump into him in the French Quarter on Sundays selling his prints. Here's his page with his abstract stuff on it. Check out the detail:

Does anyone here recognize this creature?

Image

Someone that I know says that he made it, but I know that he's just pulling my leg. I'd like to find the source for it so that I can shove it in his face. All I can tell is that it was done on some kind of 3D art rendering software, so if any of you guys could at least suggest a starting point for me to start searching I'd appreciate it.

I'd probably start with some of the online 3d data stores (turbosquid, 3dcafe) etc. You'll prolly have to do some digging, but it'll be there somewhere.

Good hunting

The creature looks like an alien with fightingsuit & reminds me on games which are similar to Halo but i couldn't mention any gametitle as i'm so not uptodate with developments of comercial nor freeware game-projects. Hmmm perhaps it's a preview of an uknown freeware/shareware game which is still in development or it's a piece from a death project & he took it as he thought he could adorn himeself with borrowed plumes without any risk of disgrace. :)

Btw. abstract graphics. At the moment i'm hunting at abstract pictures that may show only colorfields/forms or pixel art or even abstract geometry pictures etc..., which don't have any copyright. Reason for this is that i have started to expierment with Audiopainting. There are many synths such this avaible such Audiopiant, Coagula Light, Beepmap (in Fl-studio) etc.. Those oscs are scanning thru a picture & reguarding to it's nature u achieve interesting sounds that then u can form to usefule sound-sculptures for ur song. Very useful for experimental music, ambient, electro or spiritual music. I mean there are results of abstract graphics thru google but many of them might have copyright. So if someone of u know to give me useful adresses where i can get free abstract art, that would work for me peferctly. :P
