Ghost, you're about to get a thorough verbalizing from a true veteran of the New Orleans music scene...and I won't even charge you for it.
I watched both of your videos in their entirety with an open mind. Here's what I thought:
*WARNING!* CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AHEAD!*
The Good: You seem to be able to grasp how to get a lot of sound out of a small kit. That is a plus, especially when you're playing in a coffee shop and can't fit a Neal Peart-sized drumset on the floor. Being able to play your ass off with a 4 or 5 piece kit is the mark of a true drummer.
The Bad: Sometimes, your time keeping was about as reliable as a cheap watch. I think you should spend so many minutes a day playing along with a metronome...a nice loud "tick tock" one, not the black obelisk with the swinging arm. Those are nice and make good paper weights, but you can't drop your head and sink into a funky groove if you have to keep your eyes straight ahead. The only thing that will help you do is play like you have a broom shoved up your rear. Also, trade that splash in for a medium sized crash. The sound doesn't mesh well with how your drums are tuned. It drove me crazy every time you hit it.
The ugly: Take down that Green Day poster in back of you. If you want people's honest opinions about your playing, you don't want them to immediately associate you with any particular style before you even pick up the sticks. Besides...it's freaking Green Day, man! Burn it!
That's it for now. I'm only half serious about half of what I said...but I won't tell you which half of which half.

It's all good, man. You still have a lot of time to tighten up, and it seems like you're heading in the right direction.
I think you could benefit from listening to an album called "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck. They take awkward time signatures and make music that flows naturally over all of those odd numbers in the meter. Any musician can learn a lot about conservation of time and efficiency of motion from that album. I think you can handle it if you wrap your brain around it at your age.

That's some pretty smokin' stuff, but I still prefer the hop-along 5/4 polyrhythms of Dave Brubeck's band. I have to be in a certain mood to appreciate fast straight 4/4 rhythms like that...might have something to do with being dropped on the head at a young age.
Ain't nothing wrong with joining the high school band. I played tenor and alto saxophone in my high school band and won a medal for a solo performance. I took what I learned as far as music theory goes while in band class and applied it to all of the other instruments that I play. It's still paying off to this day.

Sorry but i'm too lazy for browsing thru this forum to give u some evidence where exactly i was asking u about ur age. What i remember u suddenly announced ur birthday & i simply was asking for ur age but i didn't got any response back & thanks to the Youtube vids my guess got certified herewith. Case solved.data_ghost wrote:firstly what question nic?
and secondly, what the HELL? damn song, theres loads of songs like that on many vids how come they havnt been nabbed by these commies?

How much did the complete drumset cost for u & how did everything start with drumming ? Any further plans in mind with drumming or just by fun to kill some leisuretime ?
