I based this first test map of sorts that I'd like to expand on based on a screenshot from an old Tron the movie test shoot. I got about this far last week:
I'm thinking about making this room sort of an introduction room to a new single-player map so I played around with adding an ICP object... but he just stands there until I walk up on him, then he squats and covers his face heh-heh. Guess I'll have to play with the AI a bit
It might turn to a nice contribution when u finish this someday. Especially for the fans of the gamemode DM. I wish i wouldn't be so stupid and lazy learning Dedit because basically i wouldn't lack of ideas when it comes Disc Arena Maps.
Anyways it nomore would be worth the effort when more than the half of the leftovers are hardcore-freaks in Derezze & Light Cycles.
@daddyo
i think i remember a similar thing on that skygrid-2 map, the reco had a tank turret on its shoulder
just to share a small brainwave here, if you can make reco's that move around the map, could you put the spawn point onto them and have them follow the same path? if there were multiple reco's with spawn points and times when they approach each other close enough to jump across, then that might make for some interesting dm games, what with the floor underneath your feet constantly moving. have 1 spawn point per reco, have times when reco's come close enough to each other for people to jump onto someone else's, or have the reco's come close to a unmoving structure (reco dock?) where the fighting would take place.

Darn I thought I did something original. I will finish that map.

I think the spawn points are fixed locations determined at the design time of the map, but not totally sure. Otherwise we could have a small platform pickup point when you catch a ride on the recognizer to do battle at the middle. How about 4 recognizers coming to meet in the middle? I think that sounds great! Each could be shooting too. You wanna try making it?
apart from beta testing and coming up with ideas, im pretty useless when it comes to mapping. dedit deleted itself when i first tried mapping, failed to extract the correct rez files and prefabs the second time (about 40% of the resources was there, but vital stuff like skybox wasnt)
but it would be cool if you could do it, maybe get some help from chaps that have experience, X, tronfaq, mor, etc

I already went over this with you once before, on Tron-Sector. I'm copying and pasting my post from there.
Hmm, well let's go through it step by step.
So you've made your brush box. You resize it so it's big enough to enclose the entire map. Then you need to flip the faces by pressing the F key on the keyboard. After that, you check its Properties and set its Type to SkyPortal. And then you change Detail to False.
Finally, you click on the Prefabs tab on the left and navigate to Prefabs\M01\Skybox, then double click on the SKY01C icon. The sky prefab will appear in your map. Place it somewhere outside the skybox, either above or below.
That's it. The sky should appear now. The documentation that comes with the tools makes it out to be a lot harder than it really is.
If you can't add a prefab to the map, then either you have an older version of the editing tools (the prefabs were missing) or something went wrong during the install of the tools.
