Tron 2.0 Model Plug-in for Blender

I am happy to announce that I finally have a releasable build for my Tron 2.0 model plug-in for Blender!

For those that don't know, Blender is a completely free 3D modelling suite.

My plug-in will enable you to import and edit existing models as well as create and export completely brand new models. This is the first time we have been able to create new models without having to rely on obscure versions of ridiculously overpriced software!

That said, my plug-in is still very much a work in-progress. Load times are bad, features are missing, and I have yet to create any new assets with it. And that's where I need your help!

I'm not a modeller and I don't know everything there is to know about the workflow needed to get a model from Blender to ModelEdit and from ModelEdit to in-game. If you have any suggestions or run into any problems, please let me know!

Now without further ado, go and grab v0.8 here!

Awesome!

Td) Td)

Not sure when I'll have a chance to play around with it, due to working on my UE3 maps, but I definitely like the progress on this! I would love to create some new models, though.

This is excellent, I just happen to be in the need for such a thing. Source code too... Thanks!

Excellent! Please let me know if you run into any trouble! I've yet to find time to try creating a model myself.

Hey, someone can help me please 8-| ! I made an object in Blender, but when I export it in .Lta, Blender says that I can't 'cause "I didn't make an armature" (LOL)

=What I've to do ?=

If you made a new model from scratch, rather than imported an existing model and edited it, your model won't have a skeleton. Blender calls them armatures.

You need to create at least one bone/joint/node and join the model mesh to it. You'll also need to add an animation to the model (named "base"), even if that animation does nothing.
