Just to clear up things: most context in game that is text related, is defined in either attribute-files or the CRES.DLL. So, what ever you want to display, as soon it should contain customized text, you'll have to mod one of both. There is no known way for me so far, to just define a text ad show it.
And your mentioned way, is triggered by a message as i know. But i would have to look for myself, which one it was. Otherwise it was an object, but in the end one of both.

Like X said, any custom text will turn your map into a mod. Deeahchur's suggestion of using sound files is probably the best bet.

Well there goes my budget of $0 out the window, lol....now I gotta hire voice actors, lol.


...cause NO way am i putting my Hillbilly voice in one of my maps, (rekon it ood take da qualte valye down right fierce).

....oh lordy, I still can not belive that 100yrs ago ppl ACTUALLY spoke that way in my poor mtn area, lol.

In my day we didn't need these fancy R,G,B, LCD an 3D colors!
A program was happy to process 15 megacycles just to get to use monochrome display! You program's today wouldn't know a hard microcycles work if it came up and derez'd ya from behind!
