This a repost from TRON-SECTOR 4 those who dont frequent that forum.
I was browsin the net looking for gridbugs 4 map and I came across this page....http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/I ... /ID/549520
...its a link to a page hosting a FREE TRON Legacy Cycle model. It says it is in Blender 2.5 .blend format. I just fig'd someone here would lika a whak at messin with it, enjoy.

In my day we didn't need these fancy R,G,B, LCD an 3D colors!
A program was happy to process 15 megacycles just to get to use monochrome display! You program's today wouldn't know a hard microcycles work if it came up and derez'd ya from behind!

Hey Hangman/KingKaddish, welcome to the LDSO site. 
I saw your posts over at TS, but I'm going to reply to them here. Honestly, aside from Zook_One, Xistence, and myself . . . no one at TS is interested in mapping or modding Tron 2.0. And both Z and X don't visit TS that often.
Regarding the map components/prefabs your're looking for.
MCP - I don't think Xistence would be willing to part with his MCP model.
Wraith_UD Recognizer - I have this in DEdit .LTA format, so you won't have to go to the trouble of using 3DSMax to convert it.
LC_01S01-04S01 - One of these maps came in editable form with the editing tools, so you can copy out any portions that interest you. There are also some prefabs from another of these maps again included with the tools.
Exterminator v1.0 Grid Bugs - I haven't seen/heard from Kluwolf in a long time. I don't know if he'd be willing to share that model or not.
Tron_1.0 Recognizer, Sark's carrier - The Recognizer in this map is the same one as in Wraith_UD. As for Sark's Carrier, you'd have to ask Layer if he'd be willing to share it.
Vman_Hub Tanks - VMan just used the Tank objects that are already in the game. I wrote a tutorial on how to use Tanks in maps.

Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to wonder if the TS forum was dead as the was not much activity going on. I will stick to here sice TS seems to be REAL quiet ....saddly.
As for the mcp model, not a prob, I can always use a stadard looking light beam a place a few rotating plates around it to help make hitting the target bot/object MUCH harder, since a trigger end may take players by supprise anyway. Derez count should be a main goal first off.
I would really app the recognizer file for my map. I dont know what it is but the tug design REALLY rubs me the wrong way, guess I am just too particular, lol.
(sigh), I dont have to have the grid bugs, I only intended to have one trapped bedind some rubble down in the light cycle area , not a have to have ... was a wish I could have.
oooo, I REALLY hope that they will let me use their sark carrier for my map. (crosses fingers). I would like to reskin it textures in black n white to make my retro DOS cruiser,:)

Good luck with your map. A black & white 'retro DOS cruiser' sounds cool! Would it likely be more correct to call it a 'unix cruiser' being around since the 60's?? Maybe you'd be interested in some way early material here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Travel_(video_game)

I REALLY liked that link!!! IT gave me alot of ideas!!! TY VERY MUCH!
With my current issue I was having in my map editing. With using the D02 docking area an editing the transport for my back an forth transport... it was making the map EXTREMLY oversized. So this prob made me refocus...
My new premise will now be on a old DOS/Unix system being upgraded or its data being downloaded to a newer (tron era) pc. So as before the map will be divided by the canyon. But now one side will be in monochrome.
Layer has given permission to use his carrier, as soon as he locates the file... lol, an FAQ has provided a Movie perfect Recognizer for me an info to make the tanks.
I will have a clumsy looking monochrome side layout by me (still newbie so should look clumsy, lol) , with a monochrome cruiser, monochrome recognizer (tugs - as they looked much more primitive- i just got done reskinning it), an monochrome tanks. THEN across the canyon will be the more streamlined out of TRON 2.0 map areas red textured standard looking MCP style area with MCP red units, sark carrier, recognizers, tanks.
But as for crossing the canyon area now, hmm.... I wanted to still somway let players ride across via a monochrome an a standard recognizer/tug 1car transport.(standar d02 map tug cut in half with middle 1 slightly repositiond to be a lead recognizer tug.
I will mess more with it tonight an post back about how it wet tomorrow.
Got a cool Idea to throw in on the project? All Feedback is deeply appreciated.

I don't think you want to go back as far as tubes, but maybe discrete transistors & core memory (windings on little chunks of iron I think)? I dont think this would look good but could do graphics slightly chunky representing low res displays.
If it all turns out, and you would like a soundtrack or ambient lemme know, I'd like to make something for it.

Can't help you with that specific model, but here's something I was toying with during the UE development. I was just thinkin more like old style "nes-style blocky " looking graphics, and all in shades of white, black, an greys.
As for the older system area's layout, I was gonna just use the same parts as the MCP area, just... very cumbersome in layout... halls too narrow, too long, odd turns, cirlce paths that end in dead ends. Basicly, stuff that just made it feel... awkward, an confusing to be in.
As for the ambient, sure, any help that you feel thike throwing in, I am happy to take. As before ANYONE who wants to hop on board helping make the map layput, objects, textures, etc... just msg me here in the thread or a mail here, or at my email ...

In the end a good question. As we speak of the MCP, this could just mean the whole map at all. I would have to check if i still have the sources, but anyways these sources might not be good to be used. Except you build a perfect map with no lags and extra polies, 'cuz the MCP geometry has lots of polies. I'll look if i can find the sources. Just thought that I would stop by for my next update an line of questions.
First
No prob about the MCP model, I think I need to back off the complex idea/plans till I know more. Plus if I had it I would set n play with it in Dedit n make sound effects like Idid when FAQ passed on a copy of the movie recognizer, lol.
Maybe, for another map, X, I will take a rain check on it for now.
Second.
...ugh been one of those days. You know the kind, you wake up an FEEL SOMETHINGS OFF....in a VERY bad way. Lets just say... the feeling was SPOT ON...an I just should have went back to bed. Here is a BRIEF highlight list of todays events...
Cars defroster stopped workin this mornin in 28o temp
almost broke my toe setting up holiday decor outside
got sick from bad meat at local deli
blew a tire going to pick my kids up at school
dog knocked my laptop off my bed an now it wont powerup, so now I am having to communicate on here over my PS3
....an my PC I have left that Imod on doesn't have the processor or ram I belive to play TRON Evolution....
AND lastly but not leastly ....2hrs ago my son "accidentally deleted my open map files with my Trash-IT force deletion program (while playing plants vs zombies) ...been alot more steps back than forwad this week due to today...I could almost cry, lol.
BUT, thanks to me being a save nut I managed to recover (1) version I saved from last sunday, an am now n the process of rebuilding. But I guess it could thave been worse.
Third .
I started using parts from the Singleplayer lvl (M02-03)to help me to try to learn a few new things, some helped, others gave me new questions. Here is a few Q's that I hoped someone more knowledgeable could try answer.
1. How do you set up the soundfx properties for the recognizers in flight, I messed with it but I still cant hear it.
2. How can u retexture these objects..(nodes view of map LC_02S01 "UPPER-MASSIVE-massive_background_structures100,300).- this one stumped me.
3. How was it that you gave a glow to nonglowing textures or textures that you add? - this one I simply forgot how to do, all I member is something about a negative image layer in photoshop... lol
4. In the Light Cycle map XROADS, how do you create the data beams at appear in the sky in layers? (I would like use horizontal beams in red to simulate the data being uploaded to the MCP side of my map.
5. How can I cause my tugs to move back an forth between two points automatically without making players always have to using switches?
