Re: Geometries
Not really. You can make quite large maps with the Lithtech engine. I haven't seen anyone push the engine past its breaking point, when they made large maps. It's pretty forgiving in this regard. But you'll probably need to make some optimizations with occluders and draw distance later on, toward the end of development.

Re: Geometries
Morning chaps
1. Replace current vertex matching routine with a hash-based system, for speedy-up goodness
2. Either correct the current normal calculations, or import normals from source geometry
I'll prolly clean up the UI and throw together a howto guide in any case, with a view to releasing it (bugs 'n all) this coming week.

Difficult to say. There are a couple of items on the TODO list for it:how long do you think until your convert software is available

Re: Geometries
I explained the reason for the issue you're having, in a previous message post.

Re: Geometries
There's a tutorial over at LithFAQ that explains how to use the exported geometry from Blender. They use 3DSMax instead, but the plug-in for Blender exports the same kind of model geometry as shown in the tutorial.

If you don't want to go this route, then your best option is to wait for win3k to finish his importer.

Afternoon chaps
The current alpha is available now. Following yousendit's new registration requirements, any tips for a decent sharing mechanism?

Re: Geometries
MyFreeFileHosting seems like a decent file sharing service. I was going to recommend MediaFire, but apparently you now have to go through the hassle of creating an account there.

Re: Geometries
Brilliant piece of work, win3k. If you don't mind, I'd like to add it to my "list of Tron 2.0 files" page. Is that okay?

Fine by me - it'll maybe spark someone else's interest in modding for Tron 2.0, so go for it.If you don't mind, I'd like to add it to my "list of Tron 2.0 files" page. Is that okay?
