Running some Killer App Mod Servers
I decided to put up three servers for this weekend, due to the woeful lack of Tron 2.0 servers at the moment. One for each game mode: LC, DA, DM.
You'll need to install or enable the Killer App Mod to join these servers. But at this time, the servers will be running retail maps and not custom ones, so as not to add further complexity.
I might keep this up for a while, but again only on weekends.

Hmm . . . well, how about I give your server manager a try if you give the KA Mod a try? Sound like a fair trade?
.
I took my servers down for the time being, but I'll put them back up again next weekend.
Next time, I'll run two separate sets of servers. One set using only retail maps, while the other set uses custom maps. So you'll see servers with names like:

Oh cool! I'm gonna try to play this weekend. TronLink server will also be up. It was down for a bit this last weekend due to an electrical storm while I was out of town.

Re: Running some Killer App Mod Servers
The KA mod is really cool, sorry I haven't commented on it. I do need to run through some more maps to see what all has been tweaked. I'm sometimes running the mod when I run a server and forget the mod's on. I feel a little bit bad not checking out everything you guys have done since I only really play online.
The nicest thing maybe about the manager is it restarts the servers periodically for you. Great for when they eventually bite the dust. It also 'hides' the servers into the windows toolbar. Then there's the map listing/voting. It's in VB6 and a C .dll for hooking messages from/into the server application. Source code is a bit sloppy but it mostly works.

Re: Running some Killer App Mod Servers
I'm shutting down my servers. There are too many servers now, and the idea was to hopefully encourage people to try the Killer App Mod. If people are just going to play on regular servers, then there's no point in me running any.
I'll only put up some KA Mod servers again if people request it.
Either way, enjoy your games on the grid this weekend.

Re: Running some Killer App Mod Servers
Gamespy is still a bit wonky, but it looks like if you try to join servers in the Tron 2.0 game itself you can usually see them. Try refreshing the server list a few times.
So I'll be giving the Killer App Mod servers another go this weekend, before summer is over and everybody goes back to school/work.

Re: Running some Killer App Mod Servers
The LDSO servers will be running every weekend for the forseeable future, from Fri. 8PM EST to Sun. 12AM EST. To join these servers you'll need the TRON 2.0 game patch, the KA Mod, and the Complete Map Pack.

KA Mod: http://tronfaq.blogspot.com/2010/04/tro ... eased.html

TronLink (tool for finding/chatting with other players) server was down a couple of days due to bad weather. Back online now

Re: Running some Killer App Mod Servers
With Evolution coming out next week, why don't we all try to make some time this Friday evening (Dec. 3rd) to have a get-together and have some fun in Tron 2.0 Multiplayer for old time's sake?
Then after Evolution is out, we'll see how things go I guess. From what I've seen, Evolution's Disintegration modes are almost nothing like Disc Arena and Derez in Tron 2.0. Only Light Cycles in both bascially have the same gameplay mechanic, and even then there are some significant differences. There was some talk about a Disc Arena style DLC for Evolution in the future, but we'll have to wait and see there too.
As always, I'll be running servers using the KA Mod from Friday evening (starting at 8PM Eastern) until Sunday evening.

I'll probably still be on the non-Evo Grid at certain points. If you know times ahead of time, I can see if it works with my schedule.
