Comicon 2010 trailer already online

Post by TronFAQ »

As some of you are probably already aware, the latest trailer for Tron Legacy is already online.

http://movies.yahoo.com/TRONLegacyRevealed

If you want to download the 1080p version of the trailer for you to keep, click the link below and then choose to save the file. The trailer is a 178MB quicktime video.

http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist. ... =web&pt=rd

That's quite a switch from before, where the trailers were held back until well after they'd already been seen at an event like Comicon.

Now, while it's great to see new footage again . . . I have to say that this particular trailer just doesn't get me that excited. I think it's because of the way it's been put together.

The last couple of trailers literally sent chills down my spine. The music was always appropriate, and the timing and choice of the scenes had me eagerly awaiting more. But this one felt like a typical generic action film trailer, and nowhere near as exciting as the last two. The music didn't work for me, and the timing and choice of some of the scenes felt all wrong.

I'm hoping it's just a poorly put together trailer, because for the first time I actually feel a bit worried about the final product. Up until now, my faith in the way the film will turn out has been pretty unshakable.

This site seems to offer a good rundown of what happened at the Tron Legacy panel, including the extended version of the latest trailer.

Looks nice. Anyone seen the cardboard light cycle displays in the theater yet? Funny to have one, a bit large though.

Here's a link to download a bootleg of the extended trailer that was shown at SDCC. Grab it quick, before it disappears. (Thanks to Tron 3.0 for finding it.)

http://rapidshare.com/files/408731242/Legacy.mp4.html

Unfortunately, there are a number of audience members partially blocking the view. But it's the best we're going to get for a while.

I have to say, this extended preview/trailer shown at Comicon is much better than what was released online. The online trailer was poorly put together.

And it seems despite the waffling back and forth as to whether Daft Punk makes a cameo in the film: this preview confirms it. Well, it might not be the actual members of Daft Punk in the costumes. But people dressed in their robot costumes appears as "DJs" in the End of Line club. (BTW, is there anything in Tron 2.0 that Tron Legacy didn't "borrow"? LOL. :D )

Danm! that extended trailer was awesome! and very tron2.0 but i guess it would be as the legacy environment has grown form those artetics///also this may sound crazy! but it would be really cool if they released a pen & paper rpg based upon the tron universe....................

See dudes,
Dont be so harsh on the movie just yet.
When you see this stuff up close, its a completely different experience!

As far as Daft Punk being in TL. . .

The trailer looks intresting, tho i have some concerns about it. But as Mor already said: first watch, then whine  .
Anyway, the designers made a good job, but i miss the typical 'wireframing' glow in that stuff. Why did they dropped that part of design? And too obviously: sex sells, or why do they need four female programs to remove the cloths of that guy :D ?

Might be that Diu could do the job. But attention: it is about a digital universe, but it is not Tron, just Tron-like. Right now i build the database, a rulesystem for it is in preparation. And it is still in progress ... (P.S: sharing this link is not useful, as it might change in future. Linking to it is not wished already and might be useless as soon it has changed.)

Cool. Maybe there will be a TRON lego adventure in the future? I love those.

Nice work xistence on Diu :D only 90% off being a true tron pen&paper rpg///though im having trouble understanding some of the systems mechanics and what dice percentage does the system use? D6/D20 ect....
in the past when i had more time for gaming i used the old cyberpunk 2013 rules set called friday night firefight where no GM is required basically one player makes an action against another player or target and makes rolls + stats then the player/target dose the same to to avoid or counteract ect! anyway had a tron type area disc battle with friends with the system was very cool!!

Well, as said, this is under construction, most content is just a global database for all projects based on Diu (not only for an PnP RPG).
The RPG-part isn't online already, but prepared and coming soon, what you can see now is not the RPG so far, more a Wiki about the world itself. The balancing and setting of a values and rules isn't finished already, so it might be a D20-system, but this is not definitely fixed. For more information, feel free to PM me, or we can open another thread (so we don't get too off topic here).

I agree with TronFAQ on the music. Aweful. I thought it was ok at first then it gets into more "ahhhAhhhAHHHHHHH!!!" LOL so typical. Don't they know real TRON fans? We want 80s sounding electronic music. Not this crap.

Ohhh.. right, this is for the masses. ::0
