Whattya think?
I personally like it. Some parts take a little patience or just skip being a sound track after all, but there are enough good tracks to make it easily worth the $10.
I gotta read the liner notes to see who contributed to it, I'm a bit uncertain if the headliner was really able to lead an orchestra, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Definitely an integral part of the movie.

I carry around the soundtrack on my phone. I even made End of Line club my main ringtone.

Even with the extra tracks of the extended version, there's still a number of themes in the film missing from the soundtrack. I really wish they'd included ALL of the themes on the soundtrack.

There's actual themes missing? They surely looped or reused album themes throughout the movie, maybe giving the thought that there's more. And/or they abbreviated it a bit to make it more album-like, but containing the essential pieces. I could imagine it would be very difficult to sit through over 2 hours of music (potentially).
In the liner notes Lisberger says Punk's "Tronscendency" indicating their new angle to the music of TRON.
The iTunes version has 24 tracks, are there more than this published?
Music Arranged and Orchestrated by Joseph Trapanese, Orchestration Consultant: Bruce Broughton, Orchestra Conducted by Gavin Greenaway, Orchestra Contractor: Isobel Griffiths, Assistant Orchestra Contractor: Jo Buckley, Orchestra Leader: Thomas Bowes. So they had a little help in that arena hehe. I can't imagine what'd be like to write for 24 different acoustic instruments. What a neat thing it would be to have a simple musical idea, that gets full blown into a complete orchestra.
I've seen people complain about the lack of a good solar sail tune, but listening to it now it actually sounds quite nice. It didn't seem to stand out in the movie however.

There are definitely themes in the film missing from the soundtrack, extended or no. I can think of at least two.

While watching the movie, I also heard tracks that are not on the soundtrack.
One of my friends says that iTunes has a version of the album, with bonus tracks, and other sources, like Barnes and Noble, have an album with different bonus tacks. I haven't looked into this, but if he's right, then there are three or four sets of bonus tracks, not all of which are the same, so the "missing tracks" could be in there somewhere.
