I just read the news...very sad.

I have some of his books and have laughed at his comedy hundreds of times. He even did the narration on a few of my son's old Thomas The Tank Engine movies.

Another comedy legend gone.

Wow, I would've never believed a comedian narrated those.

What were some of his books? Maybe I'd recognize a few..

One was called "Napalm and Silly Putty" or something...I'll have to find them again. It was basically parts of his stand-up act expanded into chapters. Very funny and insightful stuff.

I was never really a follower of Carlin's, but from what I have seen: I know talent when I see it. He was always razor-sharp, and never stumbled once in his performances (that I noticed).

More sad news.

What a shame, hate to see classics go, regardless whether I've heard of them or not.

Just read an article about him. He was the Conductor/Narrator on Shining Time Station in the 90's and Filmore the Hippie Van in "Cars". :(

Yeah, I remember Rufus.

He was Cardinal Glick in Dogma too. Another Kevin Smith movie he was in was "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back", as a hitchhiker that gave B.J.'s to truck drivers for rides. That was funny.

HBO will be showing a night of Carlin standup tonight (June 26th) starting at 8pm Eastern. They did it on Wednesday night too - the wife and I laughed til we cried.

If you have HBO I suggest catching at least one show.

Has anyone figured out who this Layer guy is?

Security!

:-D

Now I really want to read that "Napalm and Silly Putty" book again. I bought it the day my second son was born so that I'd have something to read in the hospital. I ended up sleeping on the floor of the waiting room using the book as a pillow. I guess you can say I slept cheek to cheek with George that night, since his face is on the cover.

I was just watching 2 of his shows on HBO last night. Genius.
