Here's your chance to become famous! Enter your own brand of TRON related sample mixes, synth, acoustical, any style, any length, any number of them, it's all for fun & everyone's enjoyment. It doesn't even have to be music, it could just be audio samples mixed in a chain of conversation or gibberish! Even collaborated entries are valid. Only requirement is that it is at least remotely related to TRON, including movies, games, etc.
Submissions are due June 20th 2007, enough time to learn the software (or hardware...) & possibly submit multiple entries. A community vote will be held for one week thereafter, for determining the #1 entry in a few categories of which are to be decided upon reviewing the presented entries. But don't let that scare anyone off!! All entries will be enjoyed just to hear what original ideas you have. Web space will be provided to hold all entries.
See
http://www.tron-sector.com/forums/defau ... &id=351424 for the official thread & more details.
Let the mixing begin!! Good luck & have fun!!!

I really enjoyed listening to that track. Cool!
I would leave you a comment on your MySpace page, but . . . I really don't feel like creating my own MySpace page.
One of these days I'm going to get FL Studio and try making some music. I did compose a really short piece in a mod tracker long, long ago but have not tried again since.

Daddyo is working with FL Studio right now...and in fact, that's all I used to write the music for Recognizer. I used Acid to compose with once all of the music was written, but other than that, FL was only program that I needed.
In fact, I was able to EQ the tracks so much with FL that it wasn't necessary to export the song to Sound Forge or Wavelab for further mixing.

I'm sure the KVR ones work. Make sure you go over any Read Me files that may be included, or contact the developer. Once you figure it out, it'll be really simple and everything else will fall in place.

That is just a VSTi...a synth program that requires some type of host application to run. Look for "Hosts" at KVR so that you can run VST's, then look for sequencers.

Maybe we should give the concept of this thread a run again since we seem to be finding more musicians lately.
Who's up for it?

Sure what the hell
How about anything goes, any form, just for fun.
Or maybe...we have a collaboration? And no bitching how someone ruined it hehe

We should just approach it as "Anything Goes" for now. I know how easily people lost interest in things of this nature. Should we make this the official place for it, or back at the Sector? Last time when we hosted it at Tron Sector, no one really noticed and it all fell kind of flat.

Now that I think about it, it's probably better that we don't. We got so hyped up for the last one and nobody even cared to listen to what we had created. I was expecting at least a few people to check out our submissions...but then I should know better by now, right?

I think what our community needs are heads who are neutral & not prejudiced when it comes to somebodies ideas, which u try to avoid by certain personal reasons. So this problem is not based only on limitated number of people.
@Avi aka Sinistar
I know how ya feel. I often too made offers to the people to work together on something such tournaments, such to play fair & not against each other, to work on a nice behavour, to make everyone understandable that Tron 2.0 never was a place created for wars as it's simply a place for virtual sports. I also fought for special map ideas refering to Disc Arena but nothing got a serious listening. It was just like people by purpose made boycots. Whatever i tried to fire up it got killed in the air before it even could fall down back to the ground as rain. The only guy to mention who was at least willing to do a map (allthough a lightcycle map) was Raven.
And reguarding to the competition....the concept might have a nice reason but on Tron boards u won't find more musical buddies. The most are simply just gamers or have only interests to make a map come true. And if u are a musican u will need some pushup because it's interesting to compete & challenge other musicans. So if u realy want to rescue that thing u should make a wide-spread on boards for musicans & soundesigners. I know what DaddyO had in mind....it was a competition for Tron Fans reguardless if u come or don't come from a musical background. However...it seems as it doesn't work. People's nature is to be selfish & if there is nothing win there is nothing to give. That's the reality i too had to deal with. I had nice ideas too but they didn't got supported as people thought to have better ideas or they just wanted to put my ideas to the exile for personal reasons. Hard to accept but nobody said not possible.
Before DaddyO had this in mind i was thinking with 9volt Chicken about a Tron album. We together dreamt & developed crazy thougts such a double "online" album with Disc A "blue neutral programs" & Disc B "red corruption" or something like that... so the basic concept was to invite everyone and sort them out to Disc A or Disc B regarding their nature they present on gamegrid sofar. So as u see...Chicken & me had ideas too. Jademz was the only one who realy showed serious interests. But the rest of the people who reguarly visited Jademz Teamspeak server only made a "i will think about it" sign. I guess for them it wasn't worth to study /master a new subject in order to present our community in Audio data. Maybe it's more worth to create maps or polish on mods because for a better credit & th entrance to the hall of fame ? I don't know for sure but it could be. To be honest...if i wouldn't have a musical background i would tend trying to make maps or modifing within the game to replace everything what goes because that's something not everbody could understand, learn & so do. And that's our human nature. We want love, credit & therefore fame. And if there are no elevators left to raise upwards to the stars, there is no motivation for them to give. Guess i again got too emotionally about something that isn't worth to care for anymore....am i right ?
Well, that's how far we could do. If u are able to collect serious musicans for this job then i will think about to contribute a song reguardless what happenend in the past. I can forgive but excuse my nostalgic mind. It doesn't mean i'm a kind of human who only lives in the past but i believe in the following philosphy: a human without past is such a machine without an inventor.
