Getting Your Bags Checked At Wal-Mart

Post by Avi »

I found great pleasure in reading this article (link after my tirade). I just knew that I wasn't the only person that got a kick out of telling those people at Wally World "NO!" when they ask "Can I see your receipt, sir?". You are NOT legally obligated to hand over your receipt and be inspected like a common shoplifter...just take your stuff and LEAVE THE BUILDING! You paid for it! Tell them you'll sue for wrongful detainment if they so much as put a hand on your basket. Why play their game and be treated like a criminal after spending your hard earned money with these bastards?

Here's the article:

You all HAVE TO tell these people that you refuse to stop to let them check you as if you have done something wrong unless they have reason to suspect that you have been involved in illegal activity in their establishment. If you are not bothered by this, then go back to sleep and let Big Brother commence setting up camp on top of your sleeping head.

Amen Avi - having worked for Wal-Mart it rings all too true.

With it's billions of dollars of profit every year Wal-Mart never has enough security staff - maybe at most 2 people (if that store is lucky). So who get's stuck with the rest of the slack - all the employees - even the people greeters. And what is really sad is alot of these people greaters are elderly and just want to do good so they won't get fired. I can't say that I blame them - seeing as Social Security Benefits are a joke in today's economy...but I digress...lol

Not down here in beautiful NOLA. These women are some of the meanest, cockiest *female dogs* that you'll ever be "greeted" by. If you even appear to be side-slipping the long line of accused shoplifters, they bark at you like lunatics and embarrass the hell out of you. I'm not going to be subjected to this any longer, so it's "Catch me if you can"!

That sure sounds like the 'security' staff at high school.

In the Wal-Mart I go to, nobody really seems to care; the dude by the exit just takes a glance at your receipt upon walking out, if anything.
