Battlefield 2 PS2 Questions

Post by TRON.dll »

Hey all, I just got Battlefield 2 for my PS2, so now I can play online! But I have a few questions about the PS2 version of the game:

1) Other than the obvious different controller, are there any changes from the XBOX version?

2) If I don't have a communicator headset (and I don't), is it still possible for me to have fun online?

3) Can I play with people using the PC version of the game from the PS2 version? I know you could do that with Star Wars Battlefront (and I know that was made by another company).

4) Are the servers still up for the PS2 version at least?

*Hopefully* I'll play against all of you really soon! :-)

BF2 for PS2 and XBox is NOT the same game as BF2 for the PC...so no, you won't be playing against those of us with the PC version. You'll probably only be playing against other people with the PS2 version.

Since you already have the game, can't you tell for yourself if the servers are still up?

I havn't had a chance to start it up yet, lol.

I'd think that if the PC servers are still up the console servers would be. I dunno, I'll find out. :-)

The BF2 PC servers are probably far more populated than the PS2. The PS2 version of BF2 was on sale for ten bucks for over a year, so it must not be that popular.

I've got BF2 on Xbox, however I've never played it online, and I don't know what the differences are from console to console. Do the servers operate interactively in each version? If so, I'd be happy to check out a sever in the near future.

Ah, okay. :D

I'm just about to hook it up and get it running. Based on what Avi said, I'd highly doubt it. I'm also sorta against voice chat :-? , so I might start up my Odyssey2 Speak N' Spell cartridge and use that for talking. Seriously, I'm a horrible speaker, especially when it's with people I don't know. Honestly, I'm worse than Bush, lol.

EDIT: It works, I'm not sure if it's compatible with the PC version or not. I hope I don't get kicked from too many servers because of my lack of communication, lol.

My name there is TRON.dll :)
