Snake's Side-B attack can take out a Smash Ball with one to two hits.

ROB is freaking awesome.

Sonic has very rapid A button attacks.

Captain Falcon has very powerful attacks and a very powerful (albeit hard to use) final smash.

My best character in Melee was Mr. Game and Watch. And yes, that IS saying something.

I've got a story behind that, actually.
I had this freind who was addicted to Melee. I'd play him in it and I'd annihilate him as Mr. Game & Watch. Eventually, when we started doing Tournament Mode, I'd immediatly choose Game&Watch. Then he'd yell at me to not use him and told me to use Kirby or somethin'. :lol:
