Rock Band Drums on PC?

I have the PS2 version of Rock Band, and I was wondering if Windows treats the drums as a joystick/gamepad. I heard that it treats the XBOX 360 X-Plorer guitars as joysticks/gamepads. I also found out that the PS2 drums are identical to the PS3 ones. Connection is through a standard USB 2.0 plug. What I wanna do is plug the drums into my PC, and then make a Gamemaker game that uses the drums as a joystick/gamepad.
