First off, I want to thank TRON.dll for the tip. I'd already read some recent news about Disney Interactive, but there was no mention of a TRON game until today.
I mean, it was obvious they were going to make a new game to tie in with the movie sequel. It was just a question of when they were going to start working on it. Seems that time is now.
I summed up my thoughts about the announcement of a new TRON game here:

So . . . let's see if DI actually manages to provide decent support for the next game, or if they F@$K things up again. I'm sure the game itself will be okay, but they'll probably manage to commit self-suicide once more when it comes to promoting and supporting the game.

I read your blog post, and I'd like to inform you of something:
Pixar is currently too busy working on "Up" (aka the good, true pixar movie) and "Cars 2" (aka the movie being forced outta pixars bottomside by disney execs) to work on TR2N.

Yeah, I know. That, and Disney is also slave-driving Pixar to redo the first two Toy Story films in 3-D, on top of Toy Story 3 in 3-D. That's why Pixar isn't working on the Tron sequel. A shame, but I think Digital Domain will do a good job.TRON.dll wrote:Pixar is currently too busy working on "Up" (aka the good, true pixar movie) and "Cars 2" (aka the movie being forced outta pixars bottomside by disney execs) to work on TR2N.
On the other hand, now that you found that Joystiq article that says Propaganda Games (part of Disney) is likely working on the next Tron game . . . well, you can probably kiss that game goodbye. I have little faith in Propaganda to make a good Tron game.

I dunno, they said something along the lines of "actually trying" with Turok 2. Even if it does suck, at least we'll still have TRON 2.0.On the other hand, now that you found that Joystiq article that says Propaganda Games (part of Disney) is likely working on the next Tron game . . . well, you can probably kiss that game goodbye.
