Hello

Post by Zao »

I bought Tron 2.0 a few years ago, and i've never been able to play online. (It was a wierd bug: if I entered in the Multiplayer mode, the game crashed and I had to reinstall it)

I recently got a new computer and this time Tron seems to work fine. I installed the 1.024 unofficial patch, but there's only a dozen of empty servers online. I searched for a still existing Tron community, and I found this place :-D

I guess you guys are still playing online, obviously not on the ingame servers?

Hi Zao,

Glad you made it online and found us!

Yes, it is true that finding an online game is pretty rare these days. Usually you have to depend on sheer luck to find people in the server...or just sit in there and idle for a while until someone else comes along.

You can also download Tronlink (created by forum member Daddyo), which will let you view servers and PM other Tron 2.0 players to see if they are up for a match. Go to www.tronlink.net and download the free software.

A multiplayer mod is in the works at the moment, and I'm sure that once it comes out you will see more people in the servers. Just hang out here and get to know everyone in the meantime.

Cool, I usually have Tronlink on all day while I'm doing other junk. I'll occasionally check the servers and drop everything and join a game if anyone's on.

Problem today was that everyone kept dropping out as I joined a server. I was too late.

If you get Tronlink, you can at least alert me when you're on. :-D

Just make sure you right click the player's name. That brings up the chat window. 8-)

Great, it means I will finally be able to play online... :P Thanks for answering Avi.

I hope most of you are using the unofficial patch? Or maybe the official one is compatible with it?

No need to worry, both the unofficial 1.042 and official 1.042 work well together. Hope to see you on the grid!
