 Couldn't resist the topic there.
I recently found a game by Introversion Software (who made Darwinia, which I believe was inspired by TRON in several aspects) called "Uplink". It was actually their first game, and it was released in 2001. The Demo is awesome, and contains many aspects of the full game. I'm not too sure what the limitations are.
The reason I put this in general disscusion is because:
A) Think of it as UserError.mod, but in real life
B) Perfect for Kevin Flynn/Jet Bradley wannabes
C) I've read that this movie contains references to movies about hacking. For example, at one point in the game, you hack a missile launch control computer, just like the kid in WarGames. I'm sure there's a reference to TRON in there somewhere.
Also, those of you who have played DEFCON may notice some nice little references...

Cool. So can you actually play Global ThermoNuclear War on the full version? Because the demo told me: "What, in the demo? Are you SERIOUS?" :lol:AnimeMasta wrote:Yep.. this is a pretty fun game.. I've had the full version for years..
For those of you who don't know, to access Global ThermoNuclear War, you need to connect to Protovision Game Server. If it's not in your links, connect to InterNIC and click Browse. Protovision should be near the top of the list. Click the button to save it to your saved systems, so you can access it from the main page of your Gateway. Now, connect to Protovision. You don't need to bump your signal, as Protovision will not trace you (neither will InterNIC). Upon access to the Protovision server, you will be prompted to enter a password. The password is "joshua" without quotes. Then, click WarGames and move your mouse to the bottom of the list until you see a white box. Click it, and see what happens.
