Might try having people right click on the program .exe file and setting to XP compatibility mode.

yes in Vista, you can set the a compatibly mode for individual programs. Makes some stuff work that wasn't developed for Vista

Alright, I'll report back here if Cam_the_Man says something about it.

He says that when he runs it, he gets an endless hourglass, nothing happens, and then everything runs slow. Then he has to restart his PC, and promptly delete that program.
We have erased that program!
hehe

Cam_the_Man says he tried running it in XP compatibility mode. He says that the same thing happened, except his computer didn't run as slow as it did when it was not running in XP compatibility mode.

Hopefully, people using Vista will not have to resort to an XP Emulator or the like... If that even exists.. :(

lol sorry!

TronFAQ found a nifty little program that can make games made with GameMaker 6.1 work with Vista. Here's the link:

http://www.yoyogames.com/wiki/show/Maki ... ws%20Vista

Hope that helps anyone having trouble running my game. Unfortunately for Vista users, I'm probably going to continue making most of my games under GameMaker 6.1, so get that program while it's still available! :-D

I got the Vista-compatible demo up on the YoYoGames site:

http://www.yoyogames.com/games/show/45166

The ActiveX control that you will be prompted to install is for the Play Now feature. You don't need it, as you can just download the game. There's a download link near the bottom of the screen.

I hope I made several Vista users happy! :-D
