I see the Tron game being like the other Coin-Op games available in Xbox Live, (ie Dig Dug, Galaga, Time Pilot, Pacman, etc). They are fun to play a few rounds, but after that, well, there isn't much to the game. Still, it's better than nothing.
A lot of people will play it, but it won't make DI make a new Tron FPS. Let's hope that a new movie comes, then Tron will be back in the limelight....for a while. 8)

Guys,
As Load said, it's better than nothing. I do think it's interesting that they took the time an attention to prep a couple promo videos for it. Could this be a nod to the possibility that Disney might have to pay attention to Tron if they are considering another movie?
Also, I thought the guy mentioning some "enhancements" to the game was interesting. I wonder what they did? It would also be interesting to hear what the sound mix is like.
I don't have an XBox 360 myself yet, by the way. I found out about this via MySpace.

I think the point I'm trying to make is that . . . yeah, it's great that Disney still made another Tron game. Sure, it's better than nothing. But if you're going to do it: then commit to it and do a proper job. Give it your full support. Disney keeps doing a half-assed job.tomzer1 wrote:Guys,

They just want to put it out there and make money from it, but don't want to deal with their customers at all. It leads to a bad reputation - and you can only keep that up for so long, before people won't buy your product any more. And Tron doesn't deserve this.
For sure. If a Tron sequel is released, DI will have no choice but to make another Tron game. Their parent company and the film division will demand it.Could this be a nod to the possibility that Disney might have to pay attention to Tron if they are considering another movie?
The question is, will the people they assign to the task do another a half-assed job? (I'm not slamming Monolith, here. For the most part, Tron 2.0 was pretty outstanding. They're partly to blame, but it was really BVG who dictated the handling of support for the game.)

At least it used to have a nice cabinet! I just saw that "Discs Of Tron" was the number one arcade game cabinet of all time:

As far as a game being made out of a potential Tron sequel...
When was the last time you played a movie based game and liked it? You know that if the movie turns out to be a flop, the game will be even worse.
There will probably be no multi-player capabilities (going by the history of movie games, they're mostly single player), so we won't be experiencing it together like we did with Tron 2.0.
I say take a look around. This is as good as it gets.

Space Ace and Dragons Lair. They're games, and you play them based on what you see in an animated movie. Therefore, Movie-Based.Avi wrote:When was the last time you played a movie based game and liked it?

Not all movie-based games are horrible. I had a lot of fun with "From Russia with Love" and "Goldeneye" (those multiplayer modes ROCK). Also, I personally liked "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III" (which also had some awesome multiplayer). And have you seen any of that E3 footage for the "Quantum of Solace" game? Yes, there are a lot of bad movie-based games *cough*E.T., Iron Man, Hulk, Madagascar*cough*, but there are some really good ones that have come out in recent memory. Also, you can't forget about the TRON and Star Wars arcade games!

Sorry for double posting, but I just watched that trailer and listened to the guy's voice very carefully. Notice how it sounds like he's forcing himself to sound like he's almost half interested. Also, he seems to be saying lightcycle as light cycle, and it doesn't sound right.
