Tron Theatre

Post by Jademz »

I've finished my short movie project, Thanks to all you guys, you make this happen. I'll have it available in two media outlets, You-tube, and Filefront. In the future, if anyone wants to see this in high quality, download it from filefront, or I'll make larger, higher quality videos.

Enjoy!

you-tube version coming soon.

Shrink your video down to 50% or whatever makes it non pixelated. I can't fix it, w/o remaking a new one. Phooey.

If you're wondering why I suck at making videos, it's because I shrank it to play on you-tube, unknowing that it would look all fuzzy if I did that. Please download it, since it's a pile when you view on filefront, and you-tube.

I made a few references in the video, that go over a few heads. Let it grow on you..

Why Ramstein, for example? does the berlin wall tie in to the video? Bestrafe mich=punish me. I liked the thought of a real James Bond theme in a mmorpg angle.

Wow, man...I dig this.

It makes the whole Tron 2.0 experience seem very surreal and exotic...it put a completely different perspective on an already familiar universe. There were parts where I felt like I was an outsider looking in, even though I know those maps like the back of my hand.

That's what applying different styles of music can do to something that you're used to. The best part for me was the very end, with that morphed vocal rendition of "Pure Imagination"...to me, that song should have started off the video. I'm still not sure about the James Bond theme and how it applies here...or the part about the chicken. The Rammstein music (although I've never been a fan of their songs) blends well with the darker backgrounds and adds some excellent dramatic overtones.

I just re-read the bottom part of your post, and you said exactly what I was thinking...that something went over my head. Was it a reference to 9Volt? lol

Overall, I like it...and please don't take my constructive criticism as me trying to be mean. I'd never say anything negative about anyone expressing themselves artistically. I think it was a great start, and with a tiny bit of tweaking, it could be a classic around here.

I definitely think that last song should be first instead...just cruising around on a Super LC while that voice starts it all off...then hit with the heavier stuff with some derezzes and crashes on the screen. ACTION!

Thanks guys! I really appreciated atleast critisism, if anything.

Avi, my references to Bond, are the secret agent who saves the world, and since the nolf crowd knew this reference, I would atleast get a smile for the selection. I didn't wan't to do Goldfinger, although that is what I had in mind with the little dance that was taking place.

The Rammstein tune was more fun to me, since it tied in the action, with inner truths in sequences of some of the clips, such as an invention of the "digital meeting of the minds" sequence throughout.

My personal opinon, is that the Berlin wall, was in essence, like part of a theme, and the sequence in the end, proved what I thought, as though it were from the movie, and history.
I thought alot of the darkness represented who, how, and what, created the game, I also new it was based upon greatness, and you just can't get away with destroying Tron, although it's just too futuristic, and surreal, to be mistreated.

The chicken reference actually had nothing to say about 9V Chiken, other than our discussions, about sesame street characters, and how wierd I describe them to him, since you have no idea what I say, think Oscar the grouch, could be a great superhero, called the incredible grouch, who, is driven around on a jeep with a can ontop, which launches him into enemy territory, although I'm referring to a 80 lb. nuclear missile launcher, there's no harm in doing so on sesame street. Right?
He did, however show me the dancing characters on the Clu's Dispatch map, which was induced by a non derez bug which causes the AI to flail around, and headbang. lol, I had to get video of that! I've never seen those characters react by headbanging with purple dots, ha!

The reference is to Thorne, who looks like a egg, who's evil invisible embryonic chick controlls the egg, and the guy asking, in the video(Pure Imagination), is talking about Thorne, ..which is another story altogther.
But I thought it was a great laugh, and just added the song, to break the cynical imagination some tard may have about the video's complexity. I really do want to see bold skills in Tron 2.0, not just my wierd somewhat quickly put together version.

Hope this put's some of why my wierd video made perfect sense to me. BigGrin

I uploaded 3 of the clips used during the Bestrafe mich song, at 100% quality, uncut and compressed.
I used the breakout scene, in the quality I used to create the sequences. The other two are compressed from 286MB and 1.6GB, to less than 23MB.

again, if you don't d/l them they look like a pile. http://hosted.filefront.com/Jademz

Actually, the song "Pure Imagination" starts with this question,
"Hey there young fella, lemme ask you this strage question, why if he was raised by chickens, does he eat chickens? Can you tell me that young fella?"
Hahah.
...So, the reference to Thorne was true, but, I have to divulge what the reference to StarWars was about. I just pointed to the fact, that Tron is not like StarWars.
and it would be cool, if....
it would compete with anything if the implied thought, tied up the two sides. Odd, and true, but never would happen.

I added the video to my myspace page, I have nothing special yet, just couldn't find a good host!

I actually make a "cameo" appearance in this video! :D

I can't remember where, but somewhere you can see me in the chat window saying "Sure, go ahead".

To be honest, I have no idea what I was talking about at the time. Maybe it was Jamdez saying he was making a video? I dunno.

I believe it's on the IO Tower level.

Avi, I do plan on making more, but no I haven't. I'm only hesitant to do it because I wanted to use an 8600 GT or better Vcard(I got a nice Raptor drive for recording video since then too), and the Killer App Mod to boot, so I am interested at any given moment to work on it, even though I've been really busy.

It's alot of fun, and there's some cool things I'd like to get done on it.

I think I remember you on the grid there Tron.dll, I love the low gravity high speed feel on those big maps, absolutly gorgeous.
During the first scene there was 12 ppl on at once, 13 on a hour later, good fun.
