Remake of Intellivision TRON Deadly Discs game in the works

Well, it looks like we’ll be getting at least one more TRON game in the not-too-distant future.

There’s a new Intellivision inspired console called the Amico that’s supposed to be releasing in 2020. One of the games they’ve committed to remaking for it is the original Intellivision TRON Deadly Discs, according to a press release on the site (in .PDF form).



Part of the description for this new console states that they intend to do all the remade Intellivision games in 2-D rather than 3-D, in order to bring back the nostalgia and retro feel of the original. Whether or not they stick to this rule for every game remains to be seen.

I imagine they’ll probably do remakes of the Solar Sailer and Maze-a-TRON games as well, if the first game proves successful enough.

The first thing I though of was that they could make it a 3D version, but that's been done already...Tron 2.0!
