So keep the added depth, since it helps to create a more accurate model.

This Sark Carrier is certainly looking great! I haven't had a chance to check it in DEdit, so for now I will enjoy it vicariously through the other testers.

I'm already added to the list. At least I received E-mails lately about the files to download. I was just meaning that for the forseeable future I will not be able to playtest the model.

oh.. those are prob my ..."average" quality ones from when I started.... bleh... man those were crappy. lol.
I have learned so much since then from that big documentation pack that FAQ released with that TRON tools pack... so nice.
...now if I can ever get heavy into learning the control commands alot more.

well considering I totally rebuilt the model 7 times so far.... MOST likely thats an older one... lol.

...like I said I have learned ALOT since I started back modeling. An I kept redoing it over since I could improve it so much each time.

...now if I could only get making perfect sphere shapes down... man those give me hell. lol

Spheres are going to be difficult, because of how many polies are involed. I haven't had a chance to look at what Win made for you, but reading over his technique is pretty good. I have my own technique, but I can't say if it is better or more "perfect" for your needs. How perfect are you looking for?

...its just trying to make shapes with spherical surfaces in certain spots by hand myself now.
Mostly items that would require rotating them an then slicing them from more than the 3 view angels to give shapes more edges to get them rounded or sphere shaped at times.

I will understand how to do it eventually... its usually something simple every time that keeps me from "getting it".

Greetings Programs

...well I saddly must report ANOTHER problem. My comand section is off grid as apparently I lost track of which file I was working in an built up from an older one... so the current command section has alot of brushes that are actually off grid... I have NO idea why when I scan it wont list them. But if I make a cut in them ANYWHERE... an I do mean anywhere.. all faces then become unaligned with a recomendation to remake it.

SO! I am in the process of doing replacement brushes to fix this.

Again, no worries, work will continue as always till this project is finished.

Update again ASAP.

-[Edited]-

I am about 50% done with the repairs to the Command Section. While I am affecting these repairs with new brushes and I have the command section broken down into its component brushes I am also going ahead an making all Red glow strip cuts as well.
I must admit that doing this has helped me considerably.

Update again ASAP.

Greetings Programs

Progress update report...

I am about 75%-85% done with the repairs an now UPGRADE to the Command Section.

Here is a pic of my progress, as you can see the model is MUCH more accurate now with scale an size, as well I have added many more detail items...
Command Section Repair n Upgrade.jpg
Once I finish this command sections repairs and upgrades I will be movin on to those dang ring sections to begin cutting all the glow strips. then after that I will be doing the new 3d layered face areas cut for the section aft of the layered stepping rings section.

...so not long now till its done 100%.

But I am done for the day. I will post a progress update ASAP.

Just wanted to pop my head in and apologize for the break in work. But I had to take a short break due to today being my birthday and all the family drama crap that I am having to deal with over it... lets jsut say its started a crappy day an only got worse over the course of the day... [rolls eyes].

But if I can find time later tonight I will start back to work on the carrier.

Update Again ASAP

Greetings Programs

Ok, I am trying to work on my Derez map of the carrier and more on the Carrier body itself. While I was working on my Derez map I encountered somethin I need some assitance with.

I was trying to modify your sec Rezzer example that you shared a long time back FAQ, an I am having a problem.
I am trying to modify it so that I can instead use the Male Program Red model in the place if an IC when they spawn in via Sec rezzer...[since I know I cant use the Killer APP MCP guards in the Dedit]. The only problem is, I cant get them to attack at all, the just follow me around. But if I change the Model to IC regular they will attack. My Question is...

How can I make any other program "Act" like a IC regular, but still look like another bot?

Here is how I set them up my Male program reds that done or WONT attack for some reason...

Model = Male_Program_Red
Brain= IC regular
Attachments = disc smack - left hand/IC regualr disc - right hand
Attribute Overrides = Alignment is IC regular

What's the Goalset set to? ICRegularReinforcement should provide the best result. Also, I don't know if DiscSmack in the left hand is going to cause problems or not. Might want to remove that temporarily and see if it makes a difference.

As for using the MCP Guard model. Well, there's a way to get the Guards to appear in your map. But I'm not sure if it will work 100% properly. Probably not. If you still want to give it a try . . .

Use Winrez to open the Killer_App_Mod.REZ file. It'll be in Tron 2.0\Custom\Mods\Retail. Open the ATTRIBUTES folder, and extract the MODELBUTES.TXT file somewhere. Now in your Game folder inside the Tron 2.0 folder, where all the game assets have been extracted, rename the existing MODELBUTES.TXT to something else. Then move the MODELBUTES.TXT you extracted into the Game folder.

The next time you start up DEdit, the MCP Guard should be selectable in ModelTemplate. But here's where there could be a problem: the Guard is a multiplayer model. And the game is expecting a Single Player model. So when the Guard spawns, it will probably become mangled and deformed. But, give it a try anyway. The KA Mod also needs to be enabled when you start the game to test the map. Everyone else playing the map will need the Mod too, to see the Guard.

If the Guard is deformed, then just quit DEdit, delete the new MODELBUTES.TXT, and rename the old one back the way it was.
